American Louisa Chirico moved into the last 16 of the Cancun Tennis Open by defeating Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the second seed, 6-3, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Chirico, ranked No 175, will face the winner of the match between Brazilian Laura Pigossi and Pole Katarzyna Kawa next.
