Michelsen dispatches Norrie, advances to Delray Beach semi-finals

American Alex Michelsen, the No 3 seed, defeated Cameron Norrie 7-6 (3), 7-5 to reach the last four of the Delray Beach Open at the Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center on Friday evening.
The victory marked a special milestone for Michelsen, who earned his 50th ATP win and become the second active American man to achieve the feat before turning 21.
Last week, Norrie beat Michelsen 2-6, 7-6(1), 6-1 at the ATP 500 in Dallas, but Michelsen took his revenge on Friday. With the win Michelsen is up to No. 33 in the ATP Live Rankings, three spots above his career high.
Michelsen, ranked No 37, will face Serb Miomir Kecmanovic, the No 7 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Delray Beach tournament, the 20-year-old American benefited from the abandonment of qualifier Michael Mmoh (6-7 (8), 3-0).
Norrie, ranked No 61, won against American qualifier Zachary Svajda (7-5, 6-4) and Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, the No 9 seed (7-6 (9), 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Delray Beach tournament.
