Spanish qualifier Cristina Bucsa reached the second round of the Austin Open by winning against American Bernarda Pera 6-3, 6-4 at the Westwood Country Club on Tuesday.
Bucsa, ranked No 99, will play the winner of the match between No 5 seed McCartney Kessler and Catherine McNally next.
