Indian Wells WTA: Sun snaps losing streak in third-set tiebreak

New Zealander Lulu Sun edged out Slovak Rebecca Sramkova 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (2) to reach the second round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 in California on Wednesday.

The Kiwi had won just one match in 2025 ahead of Indian Wells, and was riding a four-match losing streak.

Sun, ranked No 49, will face No 31 seed Linda Noskova next.
