Australian Christopher O’Connell reached the second round of the Bucharest Open by winning against Serb Dusan Lajovic 6-4, 6-3 at the Năstase & Marica Sports Club. on Tuesday night.

O’Connell, ranked No 87, will play No 4 seed Nicolas Jarry next.
