Frenchwoman Alize Cornet won on her comeback to the Tour when she beat Spaniard Irene Burillo Escorihuela 6-1, 6-2 to advance to the last 16 of the Open Internacional Femení Solgironès on Tuesday.
Cornet retired from tennis at the French Open in 2024 but announced her return in March 2025 and plans to play in the WTA event in Rouen.
The Frenchwoman will face Swiss Susan Bandecchi next.
