American Christopher Eubanks won against Australian Rinky Hijikata 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Houston Open at River Oaks Country Club on Tuesday.
Eubanks, ranked No 117, will play the winner of the match between Japanese Kei Nishikori, the No 8 seed, and American qualifier Mitchell Krueger next.
