Charleston Open: Pegula sets blockbuster quarter-final against Collins

American Jessica Pegula, the top seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Charleston Open by winning against Australian Ajla Tomljanovic 6-3, 6-2 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Thursday.
Pegula, ranked No 4, will play American Danielle Collins, the No 7 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the American defeated Belarusian qualifier Iryna Shymanovich (6-0, 6-3).
Tomljanovic, ranked No 87, beat Japanese lucky loser Kyoka Okamura (3-6, 6-1, 6-2) and American Peyton Stearns, the No 16 seed (6-1, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Charleston tournament.
