Charleston Open: Alexandrova upsets third seed Qinwen to move into last four
The Russian will play top seed Jessica Pegula for a spot in the final

Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 9 seed, reached the semi-finals of the Charleston Open by winning against Chinese Zheng Qinwen, the No 3 seed, 6-1, 6-4 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Friday.
Alexandrova, ranked No 26, will play top seed Jessica Pegula next.
The Russian beat American Ann Li (6-3, 6-0) and No 6 seed Diana Shnaider (6-2, 6-1) ahead of her win today.
Earlier in the week, Zheng, ranked No 8, defeated Greek Maria Sakkari (6-4, 6-1) and Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 13 seed (6-3, 3-6, 6-3).
