Musetti wins all-Italian clash with Berrettini in Monte-Carlo

Lorenzo Musetti beat fellow Italian Matteo Berrettini 6-3, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the Monte-Carlo Masters at the Monte-Carlo Country Club on Thursday afternoon.

Musetti, ranked No 16, will face the winner of the match between Portuguese Nuno Borges and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 6 seed, next.

Lorenzo Musetti won against Chinese qualifier Yunchaokete Bu (4-6, 7-5, 6-3) and Jiri Lehecka (1-6, 7-5, 6-2) ahead of his victory.

In the previous rounds of the Monte-Carlo tournament, Berrettini, ranked No 34, won against Argentinian qualifier Mariano Navone (6-4, 6-4) and edged out German Alexander Zverev, the top seed (2-6, 6-3, 7-5).
