Second seed Carlos Alcaraz won against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 7-6 (2), 6-4 to advance to the final of the Monte-Carlo Masters at Monte-Carlo Country Club on Saturday afternoon.
Alcaraz, ranked No 3, will play the winner of the match between Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 13 seed, and Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 8 seed, next.
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo (3-6, 6-0, 6-1), German qualifier Daniel Altmaier (6-3, 6-1) and Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 12 seed (4-6, 7-5, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Monte-Carlo tournament, Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 42, won against American Ben Shelton, the No 11 seed (6-7 (2), 6-2, 6-1), Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry (7-6 (2), 6-3), No 5 seed Jack Draper (6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-4) and Australian Alexei Popyrin (6-3, 6-2).
