Alert – Alcaraz beats Musetti to win Monte-Carlo Masters title

Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed, beat Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 13 seed, 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 to win the Monte-Carlo Masters tournament at Monte-Carlo Country Club on Sunday.

Alcaraz, ranked No 3, defeated Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo (3-6, 6-0, 6-1), German qualifier Daniel Altmaier (6-3, 6-1), Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 12 seed (4-6, 7-5, 6-3) and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (7-6 (2), 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Monte-Carlo tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, Musetti, ranked No 16, beat Chinese qualifier Yunchaokete Bu (4-6, 7-5, 6-3), Jiri Lehecka (1-6, 7-5, 6-2), Matteo Berrettini (6-3, 6-3), Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 6 seed (1-6, 6-3, 6-4) and Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 8 seed (1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4)).
