Cerundolo downs Mensik to make second Masters 1000 semi-final
The Argentine ends Mensik’s nine-match winning streak at Masters 1000 level.

Francisco Cerundolo defeated Jakub Mensik 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-2 to reach his second Masters 1000 semi-final – his first in three years.
The world No 21 saved a crucial break point at 5-5 in the second set, before squeezing out of a tight tiebreak.
In the third, Cerundolo looked the far more comfortable player and broke twice to seal the match.
Coming into the match, Mensik was on a nine-match winning streak at Masters 1000 level after having lifted the trophy at the Miami Open.
“I’m tired, I ran a lot today. He was hitting amazing shots, super powerful,” said the Argentine, during his on-court interview.
“I’m super happy with what I did today, because it was a really difficult match. I was never in control, I was really digging and fighting.”
Cerundolo will next face Casper Ruud on Friday for a spot in the showpiece match.
