No 5 seed Jack Draper moved into the semi-finals of the Madrid Masters by beating Italian Matteo Arnaldi 6-0, 6-4 at the Caja Mágica on Thursday.
Draper, ranked No 6, will play the winner of the match between Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 10 seed, and Canadian lucky loser Gabriel Diallo next.
Ahead of his victory, Jack Draper won against Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor (6-3, 6-4), Italian Matteo Berrettini, the No 30 seed (7-6 (2) ret.) and American Tommy Paul, the No 11 seed (6-2, 6-2).
Arnaldi, ranked No 44, won against Croat qualifier Borna Coric (4-6, 6-4, 7-5), Serb Novak Djokovic, the No 4 seed (6-3, 6-4), Bosnian Damir Dzumhur (6-3, 6-4) and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 16 seed (6-3, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the Madrid tournament.
