Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 5 seed, won the Parma Ladies Open presented by Iren final by beating Canadian Victoria Mboko 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday.
Sherif, ranked No 64, defeated Liechtensteiner Kathinka von Deichmann (7-5, 6-2), Australian Priscilla Hon (6-3, 6-3), Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the top seed (W/O) and Swiss Simona Waltert (6-4, 6-4) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Mboko, ranked No 156, defeated Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz (5-7, 6-4, 6-3), Swiss Jil Teichmann (6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-2), Chinese Xinyu Wang, the second seed (6-4, 6-0) and Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 8 seed (6-1, 6-3).
