Roland-Garros: Popyrin moves into third round, awaits Ruud

Australian Alexei Popyrin, the No 25 seed, advanced to the third round of Roland-Garros by winning against Chilean Alejandro Tabilo 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Wednesday.

Popyrin, ranked No 25, will face the winner of the match between Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 7 seed, and Portuguese Nuno Borges next.

The Australian benefited from the abandonment of Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka (7-5, 6-4, 1-2) in the previous round of the Roland-Garros 2025.

In the first round of the Roland-Garros 2025, Tabilo, ranked No 61, defeated French wildcard Arthur Cazaux (5-7, 6-3, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3).
