Romanian qualifier Elena-Gabriela Ruse won against Canadian wildcard Bianca Andreescu 6-2, 6-4 to reach the last 4 of the’s-Hertogenbosch Open at Autotron Rosmalen on Friday afternoon.
Ruse, ranked No 80, will face Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto next.
In the previous rounds of the Rosmalen tournament, the Romanian beat Dutch qualifier Isis Louise van Den Broek (6-2, 6-1) and Canadian qualifier Carson Branstine (6-4, 6-3).
Andreescu, ranked No 118, defeated qualifier Joanna Garland (6-1, 6-3) and New Zealander Lulu Sun, the No 7 seed (6-0, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
