Halle Open: Khachanov moves into second round, defeating Bergs

Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 8 seed, defeated Belgian Zizou Bergs 7-5, 6-3 to reach the second round of the Halle Open at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Wednesday.

Khachanov, ranked No 22, will play Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime next.

Zizou Bergs had just come out of the final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, which he lost against the Canadian Diallo, last Sunday.
