Carlos Alcaraz needed three sets to defeat Jaume Munar (6-4, 6-7 [7], 7-5) and reach the quarterfinals of the Queen’s tournament in the early evening.
Munar led 4-2, 30-15 in the third set before being caught by a comeback typical of what Alcaraz is capable of.
Winner in Rome and then at Roland-Garros, the Spaniard claimed his 15th consecutive match victory on English grass, the longest winning streak of his professional career.
Alcaraz, ranked No. 2 in the ATP rankings, will face the winner of the upcoming match between American Reilly Opelka and French lucky loser Arthur Rinderknech in the quarterfinals of the West Kensington tournament.
