Nottingham Open: Yastremska beats Fernandez to reach first grass-court semi-final
Dayana Yastremska won against Leylah Fernandez 6-3, 7-6 (6) on Friday and will face either Magda Linette or Clara Tauson in the next round

Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska moved into the last four of the Nottingham Open by defeating Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 5 seed, 6-3, 7-6 (6) at Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre.
Yastremska, ranked No 46, will face the winner of the match between Pole Magda Linette, the No 6 seed, and Dane Clara Tauson, the second seed, next.
The Ukrainian won against Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 9 seed (6-4, 7-6 (4)) and edged out Croat qualifier Antonia Ruzic (6-2, 2-6, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Nottingham tournament, Fernandez, ranked No 30, edged out Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens (6-3, 4-6, 7-5) and beat Spanish lucky loser Cristina Bucsa (6-3, 6-4).
