Eastbourne Open: Rakhimova advances to last eight

Russian qualifier Kamilla Rakhimova won against American Peyton Stearns, the No 6 seed, 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the last 8 of the Eastbourne Open at the Devonshire Park Lawn Club on Wednesday afternoon.
Rakhimova, ranked No 87, will play Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova next.
Ahead of her victory, the Russian defeated Italian qualifier Elisabetta Cocciaretto (6-4, 4-6, 6-3).
Stearns, ranked No 35, beat wildcard Mingge Xu (6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the Eastbourne tournament.
