Swiss Open: Buse reaches his first ATP tour semi-final
Ignacio Buse beat Roman Andres Burruchaga 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 on Friday night. He’ll face the winner of the match between Norwegian Casper Ruud, the top seed, and Argentinian Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the next round

Peruvian qualifier Ignacio Buse advanced to the semi-finals of the Swiss Open by beating Argentinian Roman Andres Burruchaga 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 at the Roy Emerson Arena in Gstaad on Friday.
His only previous ATP tournament was in Santiago in 2025, where he lost to Laslo Djere in the first round.
On Friday, he qualified for the first semi-final of his career on the ATP circuit. Thanks to this fine week, he will move up 36 places to 131st, the highest ranking of his career.
Buse, ranked No 167, will face the winner of the match between Norwegian Casper Ruud, the top seed, and Argentinian Juan Manuel Cerundolo next.
Earlier in the tournament, the 21-year-old Peruvian won against Pole Kamil Majchrzak (1-6, 7-5, 6-1) and edged out Serb Laslo Djere, the No 5 seed (7-6 (4), 1-6, 6-4).
Burruchaga, ranked No 136, won against German lucky loser Patrick Zahraj (4-6, 6-4, 6-1) and Czech Dalibor Svrcina (6-3, 6-1) in the previous rounds of the Gstaad tournament.
