Czech Marie Bouzkova, the No 5 seed, won against Chinese qualifier Xinyu Gao 6-0, 6-2 to advance to the second round of the Prague Open at the Sparta Prague Tennis Club on Monday.
Bouzkova, ranked No 47, will face the winner of the match between Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova and Italian lucky loser Lucrezia Stefanini next.
