English wildcard Daniel Evans won against Belgian Zizou Bergs 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 to move into the second round of the Citi Open at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Washington on Monday evening.
Evans is on a 5-match winning streak in Washington after winning 2023 title, defeating Griekspoor in final. 35-year-old earned all 5 tour-level wins this season on grass and has just earned his first ATP Tour win on hard courts since defeating No. 89 Daniel in Almaty last October.
