Swiatek wins the 25th title of her career in Seoul
Iga Swiatek defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova in the final of the Seoul tournament on Sunday (1-6, 7-6, 7-5).

Iga Swiatek gets off to a perfect start on her Asian tour! The world No. 2 won the WTA 500 tournament in Seoul on Sunday by defeating Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova in a very tight final (1-6, 7-6, 7-5).
It is the first time in her career that she has triumphed in Seoul and the second time she has lifted a trophy on the Asian continent, following her title in Beijing in 2023. This Sunday, Iga Swiatek claimed the 25th title of her WTA career, her third of 2025 after Wimbledon and Cincinnati.
However, the Polish player got off to a very poor start in this final, losing the first set 6-1. With 14 unforced errors and winning only 43% of her points on her first serve, the world No. 2 played one of the worst sets of her season.
But as the great champion she is, Iga Swiatek managed to fight back despite the strong resistance from Ekaterina Alexandrova, who came within two points of winning the match twice in the second set and earned two break points at 4-4 in the third set.
Swiatek weathered all the storms to finally secure the victory with a final winning cross-court forehand. However, the Polish star will need to raise her level of play next week at the WTA 1000 in Beijing. With 40 unforced errors, including 9 double faults, the world No. 2 was far from her best form on Sunday.
