50th career top-10 win for Medvedev at the Rolex Shanghai Masters
Daniil Medvedev beat Alex De Minaur 6-4, 6-4 on Friday. He’ll play Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech in the next round

Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 16 seed, moved into the last four of the Shanghai Masters by winning against Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 6-4 at the Qi Zhong Tennis Center on Friday.
“I was super tired and I knew against Alex, like against Learner, we would have long points. I think in the third or fourth game we had a couple and I thought it was going to be a long day, but I am happy with the way I played,” Medvedev said. “I was really clutch in the important moments and hitting the ball great and putting him under pressure. The second set was tight but I found the best at the end. I am really happy with the level.”
Daniil Medvedev has claimed his 50th career ATP top 10 win, becoming just the second player born since 1990 to achieve the feat after Alexander Zverev (56).
Medvedev, ranked No 18, will play Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech next.
In the previous rounds of the Shanghai tournament, the Russian beat American Learner Tien (7-6 (6), 6-7 (1), 6-4), Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 18 seed (6-3, 7-6 (5)) and Czech qualifier Dalibor Svrcina (6-1, 6-1).
De Minaur, ranked No 7, won against Portuguese Nuno Borges (7-5, 6-2), Pole Kamil Majchrzak (6-1, 7-5) and Argentinian Camilo Ugo Carabelli (6-4, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
