Guangzhou Open: Wang advances to second round

Chinese wildcard Xiyu Wang won against Englishwoman Francesca Jones, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the second round of the Guangzhou Open at the Nansha International Tennis Center on Monday.

Wang, ranked No 163, will play the winner of the match between Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Frenchwoman Diane Parry next.
