Paris Masters: Zverev challenged by Carabelli but Zverev into last 16

Defending champion Alexander Zverev, the No 3 seed, edged out Argentinian Camilo Ugo Carabelli 6-7 (5), 6-1, 7-5 to advance to the last 16 of Paris Masters at the Paris La Défense Arena on Wednesday afternoon.
Zverev, ranked No 3, will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 15 seed, and French wildcard Arthur Cazaux next.
Ugo Carabelli, ranked No 49, beat qualifier Tomas Martin Etcheverry (7-5, 6-3) in the previous round of the Paris Masters tournament.
