American Robin Montgomery, ranked No 484, reached the final of the Libéma Open on Saturday with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Australian Ajla Tomljanovic, and will face Czech eighth seed Barbora Krejcikova for the title.

Montgomery, 21, came through three rounds to reach the last four, beating Ukrainian Daria Snigur (6-4, 6-4), Belgian Greet Minnen (6-4, 7-6 (4)) and Australian Daria Kasatkina (5-7, 6-0, 6-4) before seeing off Tomljanovic, the world No 109.

Montgomery made her first Tour semifinal of her career in 2025 at Auckland, reached the second round at Indian Wells and Roland Garros, then stepped away from the courts after Wimbledon through injury. Her ranking of No 484 reflects that long absence – her career high is No 95, reached in June 2025. She’s playing ‘s-Hertogenbosch as a qualifier

Krejcikova reached the final by defeating Pole Magda Linette 6-3, 7-6 (4). The Czech had dropped little along the way, beating Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse (6-1, 6-2), Belgian Hanne Vandewinkel (6-1, 6-4) and Mexican Renata Zarazua (6-1, 6-2).
