Tamara Korpatsch won the MSC Hamburg Ladies Open on Sunday, beating No. 4 seed Anna Bondar of Hungary 6-3, 6-3 in the final to claim the second WTA title of her career on the clay of her home city. The No. 5 seed, ranked No. 81, improved to a perfect 4-0 in her career head-to-head against Bondar with the win.

Korpatsch broke early in the first set and never let Bondar back in, closing it out 6-3. The pattern repeated in the second: after the pair traded holds through a tense early exchange that included a deuce game Korpatsch survived from break point down, she broke to lead and kept piling on the pressure, sealing the title with another break to love on her first match point.

The title is Korpatsch’s first since 2023 Cluj-Napoca, and marks her career-best result on clay – surpassing previous semi-final showings at Lausanne in 2019 and Gdynia in 2021. It came in her fifth appearance at her hometown event, where she represents local club Alster and had never previously gone beyond the second round.

Along the way this week, the 31-year-old, coached by her father Thomas, defeated No. 2 seed Anhelina Kalinina in the quarter-finals and saw off Mayar Sherif in a retirement-shortened semi-final.

For Bondar, it was a second successive runner-up finish in Hamburg after losing last year’s final to Loïs Boisson, and her second WTA final of 2026 following a runner-up showing at Ostrava in February. The Hungarian, appearing in her second career WTA final, had reached the title match by beating Elina Avanesyan in a three-set semi-final.
