Qualifier Bellucci wins all-Italian clash with Sonego for first Paris main-draw win
The Italian qualifier beat Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 6-3 for his first main-draw win in Paris. Arthur Rinderknech or 16th seed Francisco Cerundolo await in the second round.

Qualifier Mattia Bellucci beat fellow Italian qualifier Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 6-3 in the first round of the Paris Masters 1000 on Monday, winning the all-Italian qualifiers’ clash for his first main-draw win at the event.
Bellucci will face Arthur Rinderknech or 16th seed Francisco Cerundolo, who play on Tuesday, in the second round. Third seed Ben Shelton could be next in the last 16.
It was their first tour-level meeting. Bellucci had also beaten Sonego 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 at the Cagliari Challenger this season.
Bellucci, ranked No. 66, reached the quarter-finals in Acapulco and Stuttgart this season. Sonego, ranked No. 106, had reached the third round in Paris last year.
