American Brandon Nakashima moved into the second round of the Mexican Open by defeating Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi 7-6 (6), 7-5 at the Arena GNP Seguros in Acapulco.
Nakashima, ranked No 42, will face Dane Holger Rune, the No 4 seed, next.
