ATP Adelaide International: Kokkinakis upsets Krajinovic, gets Bautista Agut in semis

Thanasi Kokkinakis upsets sixth seed Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-1 on Thursday

Australian wildcard Thanasi Kokkinakis upset Serb Miomir Kecmanovic, the No 6 seed, 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-1 to move into the semi-finals of the ATP Adelaide International 2 at Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Thursday.

Kokkinakis, ranked No 110 in the world, will face No 4 seed Roberto Bautista Agut for a place in the final.

The Australian edged out wildcard Alexei Popyrin (6-0, 6-7 (5), 7-5) and Russian Andrey Rublev, the top seed (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) ahead of his win today.

Meanwhile, Kecmanovic, ranked No 28 in the world, had defeated Kyle Edmund (6-4, 7-5) and Australian wildcard Jason Kubler (5-7, 7-6 (1), 6-4) earlier in the week.

  • Jack Draper beat Karen Khachanov (3): 6-4, 7-6 (3)
