Adelaide International: Machac wins his second ATP tournament

Czech Tomas Machac, the No 8 seed, defeated Frenchman Ugo Humbert 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-2 to win the Adelaide International tournament on Saturday night.
It’s his ATP singles title after Acapulco in 2025 and his third pro title, including UTS in Guadalajara in 2025.
Machac, ranked No 35, beat American Tommy Paul, the second seed (2-6, 6-3, 6-3), Spaniard Jaume Munar (6-4, 6-4), French qualifier Quentin Halys (6-4, 6-2) and Australian wildcard James Duckworth (6-3, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Humbert, ranked No 36, defeated Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the top seed (6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (4)), Kazakh qualifier Alexander Shevchenko (6-0, 6-3), Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 4 seed (6-4, 6-1) and Terence Atmane (6-3, 7-6 (3)).
