Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 12 seed, advanced to the final of the Monte-Carlo Masters by edging out Italian Jannik Sinner, the second seed, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 at Monte-Carlo Country Club.
Tsitsipas, ranked No 12, will face the winner of the match between Serb Novak Djokovic, the top seed, and Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Greek defeated Serb Laslo Djere (6-3, 3-2 ret.), Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry (6-1, 6-0), German Alexander Zverev, the No 5 seed (7-5, 7-6 (3)) and Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 15 seed (6-4, 6-2).
Sinner, ranked No 2, won against American Sebastian Korda (6-1, 6-2), German Jan-Lennard Struff (6-4, 6-2) and Dane Holger Rune, the No 7 seed (6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Monte-Carlo tournament.
