Hamad Medjedovic benefited from the abandonment of Laslo Djere (6-3, 2-1) on Wednesday. He’ll face the winner of the match between Russian wildcard Alexander Shevchenko and Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp in the next round
Wildcard Hamad Medjedovic advanced to the second round of the Astana Open when No 7 seed Laslo Djere retired on Wednesday at the Daulet National Tennis Center.
Medjedovic, ranked No 120, led 6-3, 2-1 when Djere, ranked No 37, pulled out on Wednesday at the Daulet National Tennis Center.
Hamad Medjedovic will face the winner of the match between Russian wildcard Alexander Shevchenko and Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp next.
