Terence Atmane won the Seoul Challenger on Sunday, beating Coleman Wong 7-6, 3-6, 7-6 (9) in the final. The 24-year-old Frenchman claims the fifth Challenger title of his career. All five have come in Asia.
The title is worth 121 points and lifts him 17 places to No. 73 in the live rankings, with 787 points. It comes as a relief for Atmane, who had said he was stressed about dropping out of the Top 100. His career-high ranking is No. 41.
Atmane took the first set in a tie-break before Wong levelled the match. In the deciding tie-break, the Frenchman saw his first match point saved, then closed it out 11-9 with a passing shot.
It is his first title since Guangzhou, a year and a half ago, and it follows a quarter-final run at the ATP 250 in Almaty. Wong loses a second consecutive Challenger final.
