Auger-Aliassime wins his eighth ATP title in Brussels
Felix Auger-Aliassime won the trophy on Sunday against Jiri Lehecka.

Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the second seed, defeated Czech Jiri Lehecka, the No 3 seed, 7-6 (2), 6-7 (6), 6-2 to win the European Open final at the ING Arena in Antwerp on Sunday afternoon.
It’s the eighth title of his career, and his third in 2025 after triumphs in Adelaide and Montpellier. Thanks to a strong week in Belgium, Félix Auger-Aliassime, ranked 13th in the world, will move up one spot in the ATP rankings, closing in on the Top 10.
Félix Auger-Aliassime has also become, tied with Milos Raonic, the most successful Canadian male player in the Open Era. “FAA” is now ninth in the Race, just 340 points behind Lorenzo Musetti, who currently holds the eighth and final qualifying spot for the ATP Finals.
Happy marriage for Auger-Aliassime
The Canadian could have closed out the match in straight sets but missed two match points in the second-set tiebreak, leading 6–4. He then lost the next four points, allowing his opponent to level the final.
But the world No. 13 showed the heart of a champion, stepping up in the deciding set and scoring the only two breaks of the match to quickly pull away and seal the victory.
“It’s my first tournament as a married man, and I’m leaving with the trophy — I guess I have to give a bit of credit to my wife for this win,” joked the Canadian during the trophy ceremony. It’s the second time in his career that he’s won the European Open, after his 2022 triumph.
Ahead of his victory, Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 13, beat Belgian wildcard Raphael Collignon (7-6 (2), 6-4), American qualifier Eliot Spizzirri (6-2, 7-6 (6)) and Bosnian Damir Dzumhur (7-6 (3), 4-6, 7-6 (5)).
Lehecka, ranked No 17, defeated Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, the No 5 seed (7-6 (3), 7-6 (7)), Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi (6-7 (8), 6-1, 4-1 ret.) and Belgian qualifier Gilles Arnaud Bailly (6-3, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
