Russian Karen Khachanov moved into the quarter-finals of the Barcelona Open by winning against Spaniard Jaume Munar 7-5, 6-4 at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona on Thursday.
Khachanov, ranked No 27, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 4 seed, next.
The Russian beat qualifier Cameron Norrie (6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round of the Barcelona tournament.
In the previous round of the Barcelona tournament, Munar, ranked No 57, won against American Frances Tiafoe, the No 9 seed (2-6, 7-5, 6-1).
