Alexander Zverev enjoyed a very straightforward win as he moved through to the quarter-finals in Bastad, beating Thiago Monteiro 6-1, 6-0 in one hour.
He won 79 per cent of points on Monteiro’s first serve.
And it was significantly less complicated than the German’s previous match, against Alex Molcan, which he won 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.
The pair had faced each other last year in the Davis Cup, with Zverev winning that 6-1, 7-5.
This will be Zverev’s fifth tour quarter-final of the year.
