Brisbane Open: Lehecka reaches last eight

Jiri Lehecka edged out Japanese qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka 6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Brisbane Open at the Queensland Tennis Centre on Wednesday.
Lehecka, ranked No 28, will play the winner of the match between French qualifier Benjamin Bonzi and Chilean Nicolas Jarry next.
Jiri Lehecka beat Dane Holger Rune, the No 3 seed (7-5, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Brisbane tournament, Nishioka, ranked No 69, won against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech (6-3, 6-4).
