Bucharest Open: Wildcard Fonseca reaches quarter-finals

Brazilian wildcard Joao Fonseca moved into the last eight of the Bucharest Open by winning against qualifier Radu Albot 7-6 (2), 6-2 at the National Tennis Centre on Thursday.
Fonseca, ranked No 276, will face Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the No 4 seed, next.
The 17-year-old Brazilian beat Italian Lorenzo Sonego, the No 6 seed (7-6 (5), 7-5) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Bucharest tournament, Albot, ranked No 139, defeated American Aleksandar Kovacevic (7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-1).
