Qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo beat No 7 seed Pedro Cachin 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to move into the second round of the Chile Open at the Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago on Monday evening.

Cerundolo, ranked No 108, will next play the winner of the match between Argentinian qualifier Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Serb Dusan Lajovic.
