Serb Laslo Djere, the No 6 seed, moved into the second round of the Chile Open by winning against Portuguese João Sousa 6-3, 6-2 at the Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago on Tuesday evening.

Djere, ranked No 55, will play Italian qualifier Riccardo Bonadio next.
