China Open: Kotov beats wildcard Zhou in first round
The Russian will play the winner of the match between Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 8 seed, and Italian Flavio Cobolli in the next round

Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov moved into the second round of the China Open by edging out Chinese wildcard Yi Zhou 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 on Thursday.
Kotov, ranked No 63, will face the winner of the match between Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 8 seed, and Italian Flavio Cobolli next at the Olympic Green Tennis Center in Beijing.
