Zverev extends winning streak to reach semi-finals in China

German Alexander Zverev, the No 8 seed, advanced to the semi-finals of the China Open by winning against Chilean Nicolas Jarry 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-3 at the Olympic Green Tennis Center in Beijing on Monday night.
Zverev, ranked No 10, will play Russian Daniil Medvedev, the second seed, next. It was his seventh successive victory.
The German edged out Argentinian Diego Schwartzman (6-7 (2), 6-1, 6-4) and defeated Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Beijing tournament, Jarry, ranked No 23, beat Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 4 seed (6-4, 6-4) and Italian qualifier Matteo Arnaldi (6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 6-3).
