Ugo Humbert moved into the second round of the Cincinnati Masters by beating qualifier Arthur Fils 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 at the Linder Tennis Family Center.

Humbert, ranked No 33, will play American Tommy Paul, the No 14 seed, next.
