Englishman Cameron Norrie has signed the first surprise of the Citi Open, on Tuesday. He won against Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the second seed, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the last 16 of the Citi Open at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Washington, in a packed John-Harris stadium.
He just earned his first Top 10 win since Indian Wells 2023!
Norrie, ranked No 41, and recent quarter-finalist at Wimbledon, will play No 14 seed Brandon Nakashima next. The Englishman defeated qualifier Billy Harris (6-3, 7-6 (4)) in the previous round of the Washington D.C. tournament.
The Italian, who made his debut at Washington, still looks for his first win since defeating Tiafoe to reach Roland-Garros semi-final before sustaining leg injury in his loss to Alcaraz and losing in first round of Wimbledon.
