Citi Open: Ruusuvuori saves two MPs to edge Coric in three-hour thriller
Emil Ruusuvuori edged out Borna Coric 6-7 (4), 7-6 (8), 6-4 on Monday evening. He’ll play No 9 seed Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the next round

Finn Emil Ruusuvuori edged out Croat Borna Coric 6-7 (4), 7-6 (8), 6-4 to reach the second round of the Citi Open at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Washington on Monday evening.
Ruusuvuori took the scenic route to victory in Washington, saving two match points at 5-6 and 7-8 in the second set tiebreak. However, he was clutch on break points, winning all five that he faced to prevail in three sets.
Ruusuvuori, ranked No 71, will face No 9 seed Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard next.
