Cordoba Open: Bagnis moves into last eight

Argentinian qualifier Facundo Bagnis reached the last 8 of the Cordoba Open by defeating Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena, the No 8 seed, 7-6 (5), 6-4 at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes on Wednesday evening.
Bagnis, ranked No 207, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the top seed, and Spaniard Jaume Munar next.
The 33-year-old Argentinian won against wildcard Juan Manuel Cerundolo (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round of the Cordoba tournament.
In the first round of the Cordoba tournament, Carballes Baena, ranked No 65, won against Argentinian wildcard Mariano Navone (3-6, 6-3, 6-3).
